Arjee Restar, PhD, MPH
Arjee Restar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Washington. Before joining the University of Washington, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. Her research engagements in public health concentrate on promoting structural and behavior-based interventions to improve the health of communities affected by a multitude of adverse sexual and mental health outcomes, such as HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, sexual violence, and suicidality, particularly as experienced by transgender and gender-nonconforming communities of color. This work includes advocating for institutional policies and practices that dismantle systems of oppression, inequality, and inequity.
