Rushaan Kumar, PhD

Rushaan Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Feminist & Gender Studies Program at Colorado College. His research examines the impact of globalization and Hindu nationalism on transmasculine peoples’ contestations over cultural citizenship in India. His research interests are transnational trans and queer studies, film and media, and also community-engaged initiatives. Dr. Kumar is the founder and coordinator of the Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ Oral History Project, and serves as a board member of the Society for Queer Asian Studies, an affiliate of the Association for Asian Studies.
